Victorian 14K solid Gold Hard stone cameo brooch circa 1890

Antique 14K Yellow Gold Victorian Carved Carnelian Hard stone Cameo Brooch. The cameo has the profile of a lovely woman with fine features and classic Victorian hair pulled back. The top of her hair has a headdress of some sort. The carving is very fine and on such a small cameo, the artist managed to carve incredibly fine detail. The brooch is round and measures 1” in diameter. Weight -5.64 gram. The cameo frame was tested and guaranteed 14K solid gold. There is a wide band that goes across the diameter on the back which also tested 14K. The back pin and hinge was replaced at some time. It was originally a long hinge and c-clasp that was probably weak or damaged.
