Victorian brooch - image of Bacchante - carved circa 1880. Sardonyx shell in the original Yellow Gold brooch with fine etched ornament. Tested by appraisal as gold. Newer pin and clasp not original & not gold) . Stress line on the right side. Total measures 2” long by 1- 3/4” wide. Weight - 13.5 grams. Front side cleaned by Jeweller. For 140 y. o. - Pretty good condition.
