Hand painted miniature, Simonetta Vespucci as Cleopatra Marked 800 Silver filigree Brooch/Pendant with Red Corals

A lovely antique cameo brooch featuring a hand painted and artist signed painting of Simonetta Vespucci as Cleopatra with an asp around her neck. This hand painted portrait is after the famous painting by Italian Renaissance painter Piero di Cosimo which hangs in the Musée Condé of Chantilly France. The painting is fine in detail and vibrant in color. The portrait is mounted in an ornate silver filigree frame with coral colored stones. Back is marked 800 for silver content. It has a safety clasp as well as a loop so can be worn several ways. Total measures 2” x 1-5/8”.
