Early Victorian, dating to circa 1840, signed "". The cameo is set into a solid H.C.Shipman made /unmarked but tested by my Jeweler as 10+ (12K or more) Gold bezel, surrounds 2 row of natural little pearls. some of the pearls is "dead"(life expectations for pearls is 150-200 years) Cleaned by professional jeweller. Nicely carved sardonyx shell - image of Bacchante. The brooch measures 33 by 41 (mm.) Weight is 17.1 gram. Superior quality in the good Antique condition
